The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and Bengaluru-based Samsung R&D Institute (SRI-B) have collectively set up a ‘Samsung Student Ecosystem for Engineered Data (SEED) Laboratory’ for college students and school of synthetic intelligence, machine studying and data engineering, at its campus in Vellore. According to a press launch, college students and school members of VIT will work on joint analysis and improvement projects on rising cutting-edge expertise areas corresponding to cellular expertise, speech and textual content recognition, and machine studying with senior engineers of SRI-B at the laboratory. “Today, our world is changing into more and more data-centric, and together with AI, it continues to remodel the way in which we reside, work and do enterprise. The Samsung SEED lab is a superb initiative that offers the scholars the chance to study and work below SRI-B engineers on analysis projects that tackle the problems dealing with the world,” stated G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor, VIT. The new laboratory plans to leverage the capabilities of academia in executing AI and data-centric projects by constructing an end-to-end pipeline for data which incorporates assortment, engineering (curation and labelling), finishing up data analysis projects and experiments, data administration and archival. Collaborative analysis projects shall be open to 3rd and fourth-year B.Tech and M.Tech college students, and Ph.D. students at VIT. Students can even be inspired to publish papers collectively with SRI-B engineers. All college students will obtain certificates for their contribution at the tip of every challenge from SRI-B.
